Kristen & Mike got married at a Private Vineyard in Healdsburg. The location is stunning, and we could not have asked for a better day.
Most of my weddings start with a first look. A private, intimate moment between the bride and groom to take a minute from the chaos that is surely happening behind them. The groom lightly tapped on his shoulder by his soon to be wife and seeing her in a beautiful dress.
This segment of the day is always one of my favorites. But on Kristen and Mikes wedding day, it took on a whole new meaning. Kristen decided at the last minute that she had to see Mike. The stress from the day had gotten to her and Mike has a way of calming her down. What I haven’t mentioned is Mike is blind, so I wasn’t quite sure how it would turn out. What I witnessed was so powerful, it’s difficult to put into words. He started by slowly touching the lace on the dress, moving his fingers between the flowing layers, telling her that she looked so beautiful. He then touched her earrings that he had bought her as a wedding gift, loving the way they looked on her…
The moment was short and sweet and I’m happy to say that I made it through only shedding a few tears. It will stay with me forever and it has truly reminded me why I am a photographer and why I love it so much.
Kristen’s brother and dad surprised them with a gospel choir which they introduced by lip syncing to “I’m so Excited”. It was AMAZING!
